AppSumo’s Black Friday sale is one of the biggest yearly chances to buy software as a one-time lifetime deal instead of a monthly subscription. AppSumo has not announced its 2026 dates yet. This guide explains how last year’s sale worked, what AppSumo Plus adds and how to avoid buying deals you will regret.

How last year’s sale worked
- Themed drops: from November 17 to 21, AppSumo released a new group of deals each day, covering video, automation, audience growth, no-code and content. Each group stayed at its lowest price for a week.
- Sitewide discount: later in the week, everyone got an extra discount, with a larger one for Plus members.
- Black Friday bundle: a set of tools sold together for one price.
- Extended access: Plus members could still buy for several days after the public sale ended.

Is AppSumo Plus worth it for Black Friday?
AppSumo Plus costs $99 a year or $12 a month, with a Pro tier at $199 a year. Members get 10% off every order, early and extended access to sales, free tiers of KingSumo and SendFox, and quarterly coupons on annual plans. If you plan to spend more than a few hundred dollars during Black Friday, the yearly plan usually pays for itself.
AppSumo refund policy
Most AppSumo deals can be refunded in full within the window shown on the deal page, often 30 or 60 days. Some digital downloads are not refundable, and codes you never redeemed cannot be refunded after the window closes. Always check the deal page before you buy.
How to pick lifetime deals you will actually use
- Solve a problem you have today. Skip tools you might need someday.
- Check the company. Look at how long it has existed, its reviews and how often it ships updates. Lifetime deals only last as long as the company does.
- Read the plan limits. Lifetime tiers often cap users, credits or projects.
- Watch for AI credits. Many AI tools give lifetime access but limited monthly credits.
- Test it during the refund window. Use the tool properly in the first few weeks, and refund it if it does not fit.
