The 100 best MCP servers, sorted by what they connect to

Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or VS Code to the apps you already use. Each listing shows who makes it, how to install it, how you sign in and what it costs, checked on official sources.

What is an MCP server?

An MCP server connects an AI assistant to an app such as GitHub, Slack or Postgres through the Model Context Protocol. Remote servers run on the vendor’s side and you add them with a URL and a sign-in. Local servers run on your computer with one command. Either way, your assistant gets tools to read and act in that app.

MCP servers: common questions

What is an MCP server?

An MCP server is a connector that lets an AI assistant such as Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor use another app's data and actions through the Model Context Protocol, an open standard Anthropic introduced in November 2024. The server lists tools the assistant can call, like "search issues" or "create a page", and the app you connect stays in charge of access.

What is the difference between a remote and a local MCP server?

A remote server runs on the vendor's side. You add its URL to your AI app and sign in, usually with OAuth. A local server runs on your own computer, usually started with one npx, uvx or Docker command, and talks to your app over stdio. Many servers offer both.

Which AI apps can use MCP servers?

Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code with GitHub Copilot, Windsurf, Gemini CLI, Codex and many other clients support MCP. Each server page on Klyvoo lists the clients its maker documents.

Are MCP servers free?

Most MCP servers are free to install, and many official ones only need an account with the app they connect to. Some, like web search and scraping servers, bill for usage through the vendor's API. Each listing shows the price we found on the official source.

Are MCP servers safe to use?

A server can read and change data in the app it connects to, so prefer official servers, give the smallest access that does the job and review actions that write or delete. Content a server reads, like web pages or emails, can carry prompt injection, so keep a human check on anything sensitive.

How did Klyvoo choose these servers?

The Klyvoo team picked 100 widely used servers across 10 kinds of apps and checked each one on its official docs, GitHub repo or vendor page. We mark official servers from the app's own maker and community servers built by others. Star counts and status are as of the check date shown on each page.
